    The module introduces to basic methods and applications of Bioinformatics. Algorithms and tools are applied to first examples.
    Learning Objectives

    Students know basic concepts and methods of Bioinformatics. They know interfaces to Biology and Informatics and are able to apply Bioinformatics tools to basic problems.

    Students understand the problems of Bioinformatics and are capable to work out simple solutions independently.

    • Structure of DNA, RNA and proteins
    • Levels of Bioinformatics: Description, analysis, modeling
    • Data sources and databases
    • Regulatory and metabolic networks
    • Algorithms on sequences
    • Structural Bioinformatics
    • Applications and job profiles
