Short Description
Construction of a virtual landscape and navigation within it.
Learning Objectives

Students are able to construct virtual landscapes by means of photos and city maps (for use in travelling navigation or urban planning) and have a basic understanding of their use in urban development. Through addressing the literature and the tasks the students deal with the subject reflective, critical and interdisciplinary .

Contents
Virtual Campus, virtual Giessen: Generation of software tools for the constructing virtual landscapes and navigating in them with the powerful software library OpenGL, in the programming language, in which it was implemented: in C. Theory, from dealing with space coordinates up to projecting textures spanned among them, as well as practice, from storing and retrieving single object vertices up to the collision detection within complex-animated traffic scenes, belong hereto.
