Notes from the Alumni-Managements
2015 was a strong earthquake in Nepal
A question from Prof. Dr. Klein: What was worse for the country or for you: the earthquake or the Covid pandemic?
„During the earthquake we were out in the mountains with friends. When we came back there was a lot of disturbance and I just wanted to know how my mother was doing. But my mother and our house were okay.
There were always aftershocks and we had to get out of the house. Infrastructure and services in the country were down.
The government launched a project to stabilize Internet connections in the country. This was mainly for the areas of governent, health and education. I led this project and set up thousands of clients
It was a very hard and difficult time for Nepal.
But many companies came back.
Covid was difficult, but the earthquake was worse because no information flowed and people couldn't communicate.
There was a lock-down during the 1st Covid wave. I myself (Manir) was also infected - but the hospitals were full. At home I slowly became healthy and recovered - thanks to my wife - however, an uncle of my passed away during Covid.“
