Have you found the printed book and would like to borrow it or use it on site?

If the status is "available" or "for on-site use only", you can take the book directly from the shelf.

The area information provides information about the Gießen or Friedberg location.

The signature provides information about the exact location on the shelf, for example wir 675 175. The signature consists of:

  • an alphabetical abbreviation of the subject area,
    in the example: wir = economy
  • a sequence of digits for subdividing the subject area,
    in the example: wir 675 = general business administration
  • a continuous count,
    in the example: wir 675 175

You can borrow books with the status "available" via our self-service terminals . A scanner is available for the use of books with the status "can only be used on site" .

If the book you want is not on the shelf, for example because it has been moved, you can order it using the media order form.
