What is overleaf?

Overleaf is a cloud-based latex editor with which you can write, edit and publish scientific documents.

Overleaf offers numerous templates for writing. A latex template for writing a thesis at the THM can be found in the "Tex Live" tab. You can also use them in Overleaf.

Since you work with overleaf web -based, you do not need an installation on your device: you write the source text in the browser while you see the result in real time.

Another advantage of overleaf is collaborative work: you can share latex projects and edit them together.

How do members of the THM get a premium license?

To use the premium license that we members of the THM provide for a period of 6 months , please proceed as follows:

1. Write down with your THM email address This email address is being protected from spam bots! To display JavaScript must be turned on! And indicate "Overleaf" in the subject.
2. We set up the premium license for you and notify you of our ticket system. In addition, we will send you an overleaf invitation email.
3. Register after receiving the invitation email with your THM email address and a password selected yourself.
4. Confirm your THM email address by number code, which you will receive by email.
5. Accept our invitation.
6. If you would like to use single sign on (SSO) after registration, that is, with your THM university recognition, register with Overleaf, click on "Set Up SSO". Nevertheless, remember your own password in order to be able to use the Overleaf Free Plan after the end of the premium license.

Overleaf Free Plan: After 6 months (from the delivery of the invitation email) we withdraw the premium license and you are automatically in the overleaf free plan. Your registration via SSO is no longer possible. to register with your THM email address and your self-chosen password to access your writing projects. Please note the restrictions from Overleaf Free Plan .

If you need an extension of the premium license, please respond to the message from our ticket system, which you have received as part of the registration process and state how long the license should be extended to complete your writing projects.
