Digital Object Identifier (DOI);
DOI is a unique and permanent identifier for electronically published documents, which is directly connected to the object and linked to so-called metadata. By assigning a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), scientific results can be cited reliably and in a standardized form. The object can be found permanently.
A DOI registration:
- makes digital objects clearly referenceable and more easily accessible.
- facilitates citability and increases the visibility of research data.
- is standard in science for the publication of scientific articles.
The university library enables the university members of the THM to issue DOIs for digital media free of charge. If you publish online and would like to obtain a DOI for it, the prerequisite is the upload to the THM publication server

The university library recommends that all researchers register with ORCID and use their individual ORCID in publications.
Benefits of an ORCID
- clear identification of the person even if the name is the same
- clear assignment of biography and individual research achievements
- Possibility of automated maintenance of publication lists
- Protection of privacy, data protection
