How do I reach the THM (central building) and the BliZ via public transport?
First and foremost, we want to point out that those of you, who own a pass for the severally handicapped / disabled and are able to use public transport for free, do not have to pay for the RMV Ticket. Please visit the ASTA, to apply for receiving a refund for the priorly purchased RMV-Ticket.
Naturally, there are several possibilities to reach the THM accessibly.
Here, we’ll be showing you how to reach us via public transport from the train station in Gießen.
Since the pedestrian trail to the THM is only described from the Behördenzentrum, we’ll start by showing you the journey via public transport to the Behördenzentrum.
The layout plan of the THM can serve as a visual help.
You will furthermore find buildings of the THM, as well as a campus plan as a 3D-model in our centre.
Please keep the following in mind: If you are dependent on acoustic or tactile signals of traffic lights, you will have to push the button beneath the control panel of the traffic light upwards. Otherwise you will neither receive an acoustic nor a tactile indication.
From the train station Gießen to the THM
Arrival with the Bus number 2 (Direction „Eichendorffring“)
Drive to the bus stop „Berliner Platz“ with bus number 2. From there you walk in the opposing driving direction to the next traffic light.
You cross the traffic light to the right. Please keep in mind that the street contains a street refuge. On the street refuge is another traffic light. Both traffic light systems are independently wired. Therefore a separate request on the street refuge is necessary and the crossroad cannot be crossed in one pass.
Once the other side is reached, turn left. Then walk right until you reach the bus shelter of the next bus stop „Behördenzentrum".
Arrival with the Bus number 5 (Direction „Wieseck“)
Drive to the bus stop „Behördenzentrum“ with the bus number 5.

After reaching the „Behördenzentrum“, walk in the driving direction of the bus to the next traffic light. You cross the first traffic light and reach the traffic refuge. Then cross the next traffic light diagonally to the right.
After the crossing, walk approximately 50 to 70 steps straight ahead.
The entrance to the building A10 is on the right side. Walk straight through the staircase until you reach the next level. Turn 90 degrees to the left and walk straight ahead, passing the glass door. You have reached the rooms of the BLIZ.
If you use the lift, walk straight ahead through the room and you will reach the floor in which you will find our rooms.
