The Institute for Power Electronics and Electrical Systems (LEA) was created in 2014 and is part of our university-wide "etem.THM - Power Engineering and Management" research center. In this interdisciplinary and department-overarching collaboration, education and research in power engineering are combined.

With regards  to our Electrical Engineering and Information Technology department, the LEA institute’s focus lies on subjects such as grid connectivity of renewable energy sources, improvement of energy efficiency of power electronical converters for energy supply, improvement of grid integration via grid control and stabilization.
