Frank Wasinski received his diploma in microelectronics / electronic design from the Technical University of Central Hesse in 2008, and his master's degree from the University of Hagen in 2011. In 2025, he received his doctorate in functional safety and optoelectronic integrated circuit technology from the University of Kassel.
Since 2008 he has been involved in several research and development projects. Among others, the development of an optical SIL3 encoder based on the Moiré principle for safety-critical areas in cooperation with Wachendorff Automation GmbH & Co KG, as well as motion detection based on spatial frequency filtering using wavelet functions. From 2015 to 2016, he worked as a development engineer at Feig Electronic on the further development of a light grid. His research interests are in the field of opto- and microelectronics, image processing as well as functional safety.
