The annual MIXDES conference took place in Rzeszów this year. Rzeszów is located in the southeast of Poland and is the capital and important center of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship.

It was the 26th edition of the conference, which is a platform for about 150 researchers from all around the world to share and discuss their latest research results. The presented work included the topics design, modeling, simulation, testing and manufacturing in various areas such as micro- and nanoelectronics, semiconductors, sensors as well as power devices.

PhD student Fabian Horst and Dr. Ghader Darbandy attended the MIXDES conference as representatives of the research group “Nanoelectronics and Device Modeling”. Dr. Darbandy presented his newest research results regarding the dynamic charge trapping effects in organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) in the special session “Compact Modeling for Nanoelectronics”. In addition, he presented an analytical model for threshold-voltage shift in short channel OTFTs on behalf of Jakob Prüfer.

Fabian Horst hold a presentation in the same session. His talk included a closed-form modeling approach to consider the trap-assisted tunneling effect in compact models of Tunnel-FETs.

Additionally in the same session Dr. Mike Schwarz, a former PhD student from THM and current member of the competence centre NanoP, presented his recent research activities at the Robert Bosch GmbH. His talk was about simulation methods of active semiconductor devices in MEMS sensors as invited talk.

An annual highlight is the guided tour through the city where the MIXDES takes place. During this tour, the participants had the chance to learn about the history of the city Rzeszów. Finally, a visit of the aristocratic castle Lancut complemented the tourist activities.
