The Eurobot competition was born in 1998 and is an amateur robot competition in which student organizations and independent clubs compete against each other.
The aim of this competition is to offer students and interested parties an easy and playful introduction to the subject of robot and system development. Among other things, skills such as teamwork, time management, project organization, etc. are provided.
In order to develop a proper robot, interdisciplinary knowledge is required so that programmers, mechanical engineers and electrical engineers can jointly give free rein to their ideas.
Procedure
- First, the teams compete against each other in a national preliminary competition before the best of them are allowed to travel to the final in France.
- At the beginning of the game, a so-called string start switch is pulled. From this point on, the robots drive autonomously across the field and try to solve the tasks to be mastered as quickly as possible.
- This is evaluated by a referee using a point system. It does not matter whether a robot has solved a task only partially or not at all.
- The winner of a game is the team that can best solve the tasks to be mastered within a certain time frame and thus has earned the most points.
We annually prepare for the Eurobot competition with a lot of commitment and joy in detail.
In 2019 the national qualification was held at our site in Gießen. You can get some impressions in the following video:
