Smartphones and other mobile devices are present in our everyday life. There is a strong demand for innovative telemedical devices in our health care system with its continuously increasing costs. The term mHealth (mobile health) evolved from the concept of "eHealth" and describes solutions on mobile devices. They enable a domestic monitoring of the patient’s health condition and allow an easy transfer to and communication with various health service providers. We are currently developing apps (iOS & Android) that monitor vital signs and bio markers over a long period of time. Especially in COPD (Chronic obstructive pulomary disease), punctual measurements of vital signs are insufficient. One of our project focuses on a long-term monitoring to identify exacerbations at an early stage to improve the patient’s course of disease.
