CCCE Scholarship winners of our "Deutschlandstipendium WS2025/26

CCCE Scholarship winners of our "Deutschlandstipendium WS2025/26

Proud together: Five IEM students win Germany Scholarship
Created: December 3, 2025

Our IEM department is celebrating a great success: Five of our dedicated students have been awarded the coveted Germany Scholarship (Deutschlandstipendium) for their outstanding achievements and impressive commitment!

Tobias Weih, Eray Ugur, and Maximilian Dietrich from the EIT bachelor's program and Purva Ghanate and Swayam Jakhalekar from the CCCE master's program are among the 59 lucky scholarship recipients for this year's funding period.

The scholarships were presented to them during a festive ceremony on the Giessen campus, accompanied by words of appreciation from THM President Prof. Dr. Matthias Willems and musical highlights. We are particularly proud that Tobias Weih, a fifth-semester bachelor's student in electrical engineering and information technology with a focus on building automation, has received the Germany Scholarship for the second time in a row – a true testament to his consistent excellence and intrinsic motivation.

But behind these successes are not just numbers, certificates, and funding amounts. Behind every distinguished name are countless hours of intensive learning, overcoming doubts, mutual support, and the constant help of our dedicated team of professors and staff, who always have an open ear for “their” students. For many scholarship recipients, the award is not only a financial relief, but also pure appreciation—and perhaps the most important motivational boost a young person could wish for during this intensive period of study.

The Germany Scholarship represents more than just support—it is a sign that exceptional commitment is recognized and rewarded. It is also proof of the strong network at the IEM department, which connects students, teachers, and sponsors in a special way. The festive presentation ceremony provided an opportunity for in-depth discussions, new contacts, and inspiring exchanges – moments that show that it is not only performance that counts for us, but also a sense of togetherness.

We would like to congratulate our five scholarship recipients (and all other THM scholarship recipients) – we are proud to accompany you on your journey!

We would like to thank all sponsors who make this possible, and we are already looking forward to an inspiring time with our scholarship recipients!

IEM – Together. For a shared tomorrow.

Solution for scarce housing space in Friedberg

Solution for scarce housing space in Friedberg

Solution for scarce housing space in Friedberg!
Friedberg is growing, not only economically but also as a university town. The Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen University of Applied Sciences (THM) is continuously expanding it´s programme offers at the location, which will lead to a noticeable increase in student numbers. To counter this trend, the Friedberg city administration and Studierendenwerk Giessen (student accommodation office) are working together to develop new housing options. The goal is to make previously vacant or unrented apartments available to students.

Landlords benefit from uncomplicated cooperation with Studierendenwerk in several ways: Studierendenwerk will handle the contract processing and the contractual partner is not the individual student but the Studierendenwerk Giessen itself. This not only guarantees secure rental income, but also professional management including furnishing, janitorial services and quality assurance. Owners can make their property available for a fixed period of time and receive it back in excellent condition. The logistical and personnel costs for management remain entirely with the Studierendenwerk. The only requirement: the rental conditions must remain within reasonable limits, to keep the accommodation affordable for students

Wanted are furnished, single apartments or multi-room apartments suitable for shared flats. It is important that the apartments are financially affordable for students. The services provided by the Studierendenwerk — including furnishing and janitorial services — are covered by a service fee, which is included in the rent calculation.
