Peter Czermak studied chemical engineering and did his PhD in bioprocess engineering. He was the managing director of the Institute of Bioprocess Engineering and Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Applied Sciences Mittelhessen, Giessen, Germany, and full professor in Bioprocess Engineering for more than 30 years until July 2022. He is also honorary professor in the Faculty of Biology and Chemistry at the Justus-Liebig University, Giessen, Germany. He has more than 40 years of experience in bioprocess engineering and bioseparations in research and industry. Since 30 years he worked on bioprocesses with animal cells also. Peter Czermak is cofounder of 6 start-up companies in the last 30 years.
