Icmadophila ericetorum (L.) Zahlbr. Terricol, between mosses. Thallus granular; apothecia pale red, margin thick but becoming excluded when older; ascospores colourless, 2-septate, 23x5 µm. Thallus K+ yellow, apothecia K+ orange (see lowest photo), KC+ orange, Pd+ orange. Similar to Baeomyces roseus but this species has usually mushroom like fruiting bodies. It resembles also to Trapeliopsis granulosa when infertil but Trapeliopsis has soredia and the C reaction of the thallus is red. Central Europe; Austria; Tirol: Alps. (Coll/ident. by M. Schessl). |
