Short Description

The students visit a Bioinformatics conference or company. They elaborate on one of the talks held there or on one of the topics worked on, and present their results either in written form or in a presentation. The language of the materials and the presentation is English.

Learning Objectives

Students possess a critical understanding of applications used in the field of Bioinformatics. They know the methods of scientific procedure in the Life Sciences, libraries and literature portals. They are capable of acquiring necessary literature, compiling relevant information independently, and quoting correctly. They are competent to familiarise themselves with current fields of research, and to depict this knowledge in a clearly structured and comprehensive way.


Several talks on Bioinformatics and bioinformatic topics presented at the conference or company.

Examination prerequsite: participation in the conference

Examination: presentation in the seminar (30 minutes) (100 %), or seminary paper (ca. 8 pages) (100 %)
