Short Description
Unix and scripting languages with particular focus on applications in bioinformatics
Learning Objectives

Students are able to program simple tasks in a scripting programming language. They know libraries specific for Bioinformatics, for instance BioPerl. They are familiar with the Unix command line and the most important Unix tools.

Students are able to create and present applications of Bioinformatics in a team.

Unix-Tools as awk, sed, emacs, shell, shell-scripts, pipe aso. Scripting language like Perl or Python. Application of specific bioinformatics libraries.
