Learning Objectives

Revision and further development of basic grammar and vocabulary in Spanish for everyday use at work. Application of
language knowledge and skills in special fields such as business, tourism, services, office communication etc.
Preparation for a term abroad in Spain.

Contents

Short introduction to Spanish grammar based on everyday situations. Introducing oneself in professional and private life.
Understanding and compiling advertisements for job vacancies. Job applications and curriculum vitae. Introduction to
business correspondence. Telephoning at work. Making appointments. Preparing business trips and annual meetings.
Starting up a fictive company. Useful phrases for business lunches/dinners. Advertising. Reading comprehension based
on authentic texts (economics, politics, banking, fishing, European Union etc.). Spain as a country - Spanish institutions,
history, geography etc.
