    Genome projects, strategies in genome sequencing, transcriptors, expression analysis, SNP analysis, in-situ hybridization, GFP techniques, proteomics, sample preparation, 2D electrophoresis, quantification, DIGE, mass spectrometry, quantifying hyper-stable isotopes, protein macro arrays, protein interactions, system biology, next generation sequencing of virus and bacteria genomes

    Learning Objectives
    Students acquire in-depth theoretical and practical competences for applicaton and evaluation of complex analytical techniques in the area of functional genome expression and proteom analysis. They are able to use them for the scientific description of the status of biological systems
    Contents
    • Principles of functional analysis of genetic information, genome projects, strategies for genome sequencing
    • Methods for expression analysis, differential display, reverse PCR, quantitative real-time PCR, DNA chip technologies, SNP analysis, SLRPs, in situ hybridysation, GFP techniques
    • Proteom analysis, sample preparation, gel-based methods, non-gel methods, quantification, protein arrays
    • Metabolomics and systems biology
