    Basics, structure and application domains of embedded systems.
    Learning Objectives

    The participants know the special requirements of embedded systems, especially in specific cases. To select best from the treated methods and tools for the modelling (HW and SW) of an embedded system and to evaluate and use competently.

    • Foundations of dynamic systems: Signals, transfer function, fourier-transformation
    • Embedded systems and their environment: measurement principles, sensor, converter, actuator, communication, space requirements, energy consumption
    • Structure of embedded systems: signal processing chain
    • Communication in embedded systems: Requirements, busses in factory automation and automotive, internet connection
    • Specific characteristics of a real time operating system
