Short Description
The students should learn to work self-directed/independently and develop a concrete project. The module serves as a basis for the Bachelor thesis.
Learning Objectives
The student learns how to succesfully accomplish a real-world project on her/his own responsibility and according to the state of the art in computer science. The student also acquires a basic understanding of the business processes and organizational structures which are related to the project's application domain.
The project phase is both entry criterion and preparation for the bachelor thesis.
The student may choose between external and internal projects. The university cooperates with industry partners in order to offer external projects. In both cases the project scope is well-defined and the project tasks are closely related to the Bachelor of Science (Informatik) degree.
The university supports the student in finding an appropriate project assignment. The university also offers organizational support and supervision during the project phase. Usually, the professor who supervises the student during the project phase also supervises the preparation of the bachelor thesis of the same student.
The project phase is accompanied by the project seminar (CS3005).
