  • Short Description

    Basics of data warehousing: ETL, ODS, Data Mart etc.; Data warehouse systems - architecture and processes; Multidimensional data modelling (semantically and logical data modelling); OLAP. Case studies using software products (for example DWH systems of SAP, Oracle, SAS).

    Learning Objectives

    Students are able to understand the principles and the benefits of data warehousing and arrange them into a company's processes. They know the basic procedures for operating the DWH process and are able to design and implement data models for the development of data warehouses. Through the course accompanying small groups-case study, the students are able to work as a team and collectively edit company questions and present and defend their results in front of others.
