Short Description
Law governing partnerships and joint-stock companies
Learning Objectives

This module deals with the various business forms found in a modern economy and the basic structure of such
companies. Criteria will be discussed as to which form is most suitable when setting up a new business or restructuring
an already existing one. Participants will also be informed about the possibilities of transforming a company or forming a
concern.

- overview of different business forms
- law governing partnerships: general partnership; limited partnership; dormant partnership
- law governing joint-stock companies: public limited company; company limited by shares; private limited company
- basic features of company law relating to groups
- conversion of companies into a different form
