THM laboratories are being checked for their suitability for student projects, teaching/learning concepts are being developed in cooperation with the Departments , and suitable offers for schools in the region are being designed based on a needs analysis.
Furthermore, there is close cooperation with the existing makerspaces in Giessen and Friedberg, which are opening up their offerings and expanding them to meet specific target groups.
A special focus is placed on addressing girls in order to promote their interest in scientific and technical topics as well as their confidence in their own abilities in this area and to inspire them for STEM disciplines (e.g. through the use of "role models", visual language, special STEM clubs for girls).
The students are accompanied by didactically trained student tutors from THM. This enables targeted skills development and supports early university orientation.
