"Blue lights meet campus": Fire brigade action day at THM

THM invites you to a ball night with live music

Live music and dancing in a festive atmosphere: On Friday, November 14, 2025, the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) will once again transform the Giessen Congress Hall into a ballroom starting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are currently still available at the discounted early bird price.
President Prof. Dr. Matthias Willems is already looking forward to the ball: “We invite everyone to our annual gala event. Our guests can expect a diverse program. We will also be honoring student athletes and international students of THM for their achievements.”
The university ball begins with the opening ceremony by Willems at 7:30 p.m. Once again, the six-member gala orchestra "Transatlantic Band" will provide lively dance music. Their repertoire ranges from Viennese waltzes and well-known ballroom dance tunes to disco classics. The "Gastropaten" team, the congress hall's catering service, will be responsible for the food and drinks.
Tickets for the THM are only available in advance through the two THM in Giessen and Friedberg, and online at go.thm.de/thm-ball . Early bird tickets are available until October 24th for €26 – students pay €16. From October 25th onwards, the regular ticket price is €34, and €21 for students. A champagne reception at the beginning of the evening is included – doors open at 6:30 pm.

It's not unusual for upper-level high school classes to experiment and get a taste of university life in the THM 's laboratories and workshops. However, the Biotechnology/Biopharmaceutical Technology program in the Department of Life Science Engineering (LSE) has now, for the first time, inspired a fourth-grade class with practical science experiences.
