Signing the sponsorship transfer: Sophia Reiter (Founder and Head of Development at FISEGO) and THMPresident Prof. Dr. Matthias Willems. Providing the fire protection of the future through their innovative system – that is the vision of FISEGO, a spin-off from the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM). With the transfer of the patents, the team now secures full rights to its innovative idea.

“The patent transfer is another milestone in our company’s development,” said Sophia Reiter, co-founder and head of development at FISEGO Holding GmbH, during the contract signing. THMPresident Prof. Dr. Matthias Willems also expressed his delight: “FISEGO is an excellent example of how innovative research at THM can lead to socially relevant products.”

Founders Sophia Reiter and Fabian Goedert have developed the world's first fire protection system for electrical devices: It detects fire development early, automatically triggers an alarm, interrupts the power supply, and extinguishes the incipient fire – completely autonomously and without human intervention. Goedert and Reiter developed the underlying technology at THM .

A few months ago, the company inaugurated its new, larger premises in downtown Butzbach – a former newspaper printing plant. Another success this year: VDE certification. The certification mark of the Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies confirms the quality of FISEGO's technology. "The road to get here was intense: technical challenges, complex testing procedures, and countless optimization cycles. But above all, it was a journey we undertook as a team," the founding team stated.

THM supports university members in realizing their startup ideas – from consulting to financing. It offers access to networks and resources, as well as early protection for inventions. This, in turn, strengthens the confidence of potential investors and facilitates financing.
