The guests' program also included a visit to Daimler in Sindelfingen. Guests from the Universidade Lusíada and the Instituto Universitário de Lisboa visited TH Mittelhessen. Accompanied by Professors Isabel Duarte de Almeida and João Vilas-Boas da Silva, 35 Master's students of Business Administration and Engineering came to the Department of Management and Communication (MuK) in Friedberg. The three-day stay in Germany was funded by the European Union.

The main interest of the members of the two partner universities was the networked use of IT in manufacturing, which is increasingly electronically controlled and documented. As an introduction to the topic, which is discussed in Germany under the heading "Industry 4.0," the Portuguese guests listened to a lecture by Prof. Dr. Monika Maria Möhring.

This was followed by visits to Porsche in Zuffenhausen and Daimler in Sindelfingen. According to Möhring, parts of the production there have automation and digitalization levels of 98 percent. The program concluded with a full-day excursion to the automotive supplier Continental Automotive in Karben.

The Department of Media and Communication (MuK), which offers the Bachelor's degree program in Logistics Management and Supply Chain Management as a Master's course, intends to further expand its collaboration with its Portuguese partners. Master's students will soon be able to spend a semester abroad in Lisbon, the content of which is aligned with their studies in Friedberg. An exchange of teaching staff is also planned.
