In conversation with Prof. Dr. Keywan Sohrabi (standing, right), moderator Willi Weitzel (left) has it explained to him, among other things, how the robot dog can be used in rescue services.Innovative projects in robotics, medical technology, artificial intelligence and digital healthcare: The Department Health at the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) presented itself for three days in the “AI World” area at the Hessentag in Fulda.

Following the official opening ceremony, Hesse's Digital Minister, Prof. Dr. Kristina Sinemus, and moderator Willi Weitzel stopped at the Department 's booth to learn more about the research projects. The Digital Minister even took the opportunity to examine a lung using a bronchoscope.

Willi Weitzel had the capabilities of an intelligent robot dog demonstrated to him and learned about its possible areas of application in rescue services. 

Other projects presented included Quitam Nox, Latin for "quiet night", a system for contactless monitoring of children during sleep, research on ventilation, and the ParDi app for long-term monitoring of Parkinson's patients, funded by the Hessian Ministry for Digital Affairs.

The diverse range of topics and hands-on activities captivated visitors of all ages. The focus was on clearly explaining the use of AI in medicine, showcasing the possibilities of modern technologies, and making them tangible. Live demonstrations, personal discussions, and interactive stations provided a vivid introduction to the Department 's current research.

Students, research assistants, and the Dean of the Department of Health, Prof. Dr. Keywan Sohrabi, presented the projects, answered questions, and provided practical insights into current developments within the Department . The enormous interest, numerous inquiries, and positive feedback demonstrated the strong desire for clear explanations and direct exchange. The team was delighted to present their work at the Hessentag and make research accessible to a broad public.
