The Nextbike system in Giessen now offers a total of 465 rental bikes, which can be rented and returned at 58 stations. Individual registration in the Nextbike system is required to use the system.
Students can link their account to THM during registration and thus use the first 45 minutes of each ride in Giessen free of charge via their semester fee. Nextbikes can also be borrowed free of charge in (almost) all systems throughout Germany (except in Greifswald, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Nuremberg, Mainz, Munich, Oldenburg, and Bremen).
As part of a data collection project for the mobility concept, university staff can also borrow a bicycle free of charge for 60 minutes. This offer is valid in all German cities except those mentioned above. Further information for staff can be found here.
THMbicycle rental and return stations are located on all campuses and in the city center (see map below). There are three stations at the train station, ensuring convenient access to the university. Bicycles must be returned to a station to remain free of charge.
