In Germany, a modern, cosmopolitan country, people with diverse lifestyles, backgrounds, and opinions come together. Society is characterized by great diversity. THM is proud of this diversity and sees it as an opportunity. We are committed to ensuring equitable participation in all areas, promoting respectful dialogue, and clearly opposing all forms of discrimination.
Interpersonal conflicts are nevertheless sometimes unavoidable. In a pluralistic society, the existence of differing values harbors potential for conflict.
The BIKO team offers all THM the opportunity to report incidents of racially motivated discrimination, discuss them, and develop solutions.
Racially motivated discrimination includes the following characteristics:
- Discrimination regarding external characteristics such as skin color or clothing
- Discrimination based on ethnic origin
- Discrimination based on religious affiliation (religion) and/or worldview
The BIKO team's work is based on the THM (see announcement of July 19, 2019 / AMB 55/2019 ). The BIKO contact persons are officially appointed by the presidium and act within the framework of a presidium resolution.
