Selfless conduct of official business, free from personal gain, is one of the essential foundations of the public service. The Hessian Ministry of the Interior and Sport has published regulations on corruption prevention and combating corruption.

In accordance with regulations, the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen has appointed contact persons for corruption prevention. These individuals report directly to the university management.

Their duties include:

  • Education, advice and awareness-raising for employees
  • Advice and support for the management of the department
  • Development of preventive measures
  • ad-hoc consultation

Anyone – whether staff, students, or members of the public – can and should contact the designated corruption prevention officers if they suspect corrupt behavior. They can contact the officers by email, in writing (using a letter marked "confidential"), or in person. The corruption prevention officers are obligated to treat all information received confidentially. This applies especially to the identity of the person providing the information. However, this confidentiality does not apply to the university administration or state law enforcement agencies (courts, public prosecutors) if they become aware of facts that give rise to reasonable suspicion of a corruption offense.
