Family-friendly university

Child benefit
regulates the entitlement to and the conditions for receiving child benefit Federal Child Benefit Act (BKGG)
Information about eligibility and payment of child benefit can be found on the website of the Family Benefits Office of the Federal Employment Agency.

child allowance
According to § 23 a of the collective agreement of Hesse, a child allowance is granted, which is paid monthly, provided the conditions listed therein are met.
Applications for child allowance must be submitted to the payroll office of the University of Kassel. The application form can be found here.
Flexible working hours through flextime and mobile working
Since January 2019, all employees of the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen have been required to participate in flexible working hours.
Flexible working hours allow for a working time corridor from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. within which work can be performed. Core hours are possible and therefore mandatory in areas with high public traffic.
Furthermore, a company agreement stipulates the possibility of mobile working, which can be used for up to 50% of working time, depending on individual circumstances – subject to close consultation with the direct supervisor and the nature of the work. It should also be noted that a waiting period applies before employees can utilize mobile working.
