The threat posed by cyberattacks is constantly increasing, including in the education sector. The university therefore aims to ensure an appropriate level of security to protect data and systems. 

The Information Security Unit operates within the area of ​​responsibility of the Vice President for IT and supports the Information Security Officer. This is based on the THMInformation Security Policy.

In cooperation with other central and decentralized organizational units, our tasks include, among others:

• Analysis of IT landscapes and processes with regard to IT security
• Processing of IT security reports
• Consulting and support on IT security issues for THMsystems
• Establishment and maintenance of an information security management system
• The coordination and/or implementation of compliance and legal requirements
• Establishing an emergency management system
• Creation and implementation of security guidelines and concepts
