Pro THM project, funded under the federal-state program "FH Personal", is to make the career path of a HAW professorship more visible and attractive, to make the entry conditions for new professors more flexible and to implement sustainable funding and support structures at THM .
One project - 3 areas
The first area focuses on qualification for a professorship at a university of applied sciences and is therefore primarily aimed at highly qualified graduates, doctoral candidates, and post-docs. The project will create a scouting pool for the targeted recruitment of talented students. By establishing firm collaborations with industry partners, doctoral candidates and post-docs will be enabled to gain the practical and teaching experience necessary for a future professorship. Furthermore, the project will examine the possibility of a more flexible definition and structure of the academic achievements required for professorship.
The second part of the project deals with the creation of new types of professorships at universities of applied sciences . Shared professorship and profile professorship models are intended to increase the flexibility and attractiveness of the career path to a professorship at a university of applied sciences.
The third project area aims support services for newly appointed professors at universities of applied sciences and establish firm structures for this purpose. Plans include the introduction of an onboarding program and a peer mentoring program. Furthermore, a dual-career concept will be developed to provide support for the career paths of the partners of the newly appointed professors.
In all project areas, particular emphasis should be placed on appealing to women in order to increase the proportion of women among highly qualified staff.
