The Communications and Marketing Working Group is a permanent steering committee that continuously monitors the communication development of THM and advises the presidium on the strategic direction of communication activities. THM adopts a broad understanding of marketing, encompassing not only communication policy but also, and perhaps primarily, exchange processes and relationship building between university members and external target groups and stakeholders.
The working group, led by the president, brings together employees from the central departments responsible for events and marketing, press and public relations, new media and the design of print media.

The main tasks of the Marketing and Communications Working Group are:
- Subject-specific advice for THMmembers
- Formulations of recommendations for the presidium with regard to the strategic direction of THM in the field of "marketing and communication"
- Recommendations for university communication and the profile development of THM
- Coordination of activities within the framework of university communications (offline/digital)
- Corporate Design
- Political communication
- Trend scouting
