Teacher training
The contact point School&THM , in cooperation with the Justus Liebig University Giessen offers regular Further education courses on the topic of "Knowledge about studying today".
Within our diverse student body, we see a multitude of lifestyles with varying needs that the current higher education system doesn't always adequately address: academic support, for example, the compatibility of family and studies, or the desire to actively participate in solving societal challenges. The last major change to our study models, the Bologna reforms, took place approximately 20 years ago. Since then, many universities have been working to adapt to the diverse needs of their students: through decentralized development of study structures and innovative ideas, they are creating new study models. Some aim to remove barriers that hinder successful studies. Others enable students to work interdisciplinarily on future-oriented topics. The professional development course "Knowledge about Higher Education Today" addresses these topics and provides an initial overview.
All teachers from grammar schools, vocational grammar schools, and technical colleges (e.g., career guidance coordinators) are invited to the Further education event. We also warmly welcome representatives from the two participating universities who are passionate about the topic of study orientation and who wish to engage intensively with the transition from school to university.
