Organizational and IT security is an interdisciplinary field that deals with the security of information, IT systems and business processes in companies and institutions. It combines aspects of computer science, business management and law to identify risks, develop protective measures and implement security strategies.

Effective IT security protects organizations from threats such as cyber attacks, data loss and system failures. Proven technologies such as firewalls, encryption and intrusion detection systems are used as well as modern approaches from the areas of artificial intelligence, Zero Trust Security and cloud security.

In addition to technical measures, organizational security concepts play a crucial role. This includes risk management, security guidelines, compliance requirements and the training of employees in order to minimize human mistakes and social engineering attacks.

The focus of the "Organizational and IT Security" course at THM is on the development and implementation of holistic security concepts. Students learn to design security architectures, analyze weaknesses and to develop practical security solutions for organizations.
