Technical changes and increasingly extensive tasks pose major personnel challenges for the construction industry. In order to cope with the complex challenges in the construction industry, construction companies place high demands on the qualifications of their employees: because the task of civil engineers is to manage a wide variety of construction projects to plan and implement - for example in the areas of structural and civil engineering, buildings, bridges, traffic routes or other infrastructure projects. A variety of technical and legal framework conditions must be observed.
Studies
course of study
In the three and a half year dual bachelor's degree, theory (at the university) and practice (during the time in the company) take place alternately. The dual course begins with an introductory phase that begins in August. During this time, the student gets to know the company and its procedures and processes. Lectures for the first semester begin in October. After the first, second and third semester there is one practical phase Following the fourth semester, the fifth semester offers the opportunity to focus on an individual subject or to spend a semester abroad. The fifth semester is followed by project studies, which span the entire sixth semester. Aside from two-day theory modules at StudiumPlus, students work in their partner company and work on larger projects within this framework. The seventh semester begins with the practical part of the thesis in the company. This is followed by theoretical block modules at the university. In the last month of the programme, students prepare in the company for the colloquium, which takes place at the end of the programme.
Digital Elective modules
The Elective modules of the 5th semester of the dual bachelor's degree in software technology (B.Sc.) usually take place as virtual courses. These are carried out live according to regular timetable via a video conference system.
