due to prior entitlement to admission
Applicants are pre-selected for the requested course of study based on a previous entitlement to admission if they have already been admitted to this course of study at the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen at the beginning or during a period of service.
For this reason, it is necessary that you upload the deferment notice issued by THM at the time as a file at the end of the online application.
Services include:
- Service obligations pursuant to Article 12a, paragraphs 1 or 2 of the Basic Law for a period of up to 3 years
- Periods of voluntary military service under the Military Service Act
- Periods of federal voluntary service according to the Federal Voluntary Service Act
- Periods of at least two years' duration in development service
- Periods of voluntary youth service under the Voluntary Youth Service Act or periods of a model project funded by the Federal Government
- Periods of care or supervision of a child under 18 years of age or other relatives for a duration of up to 3 years
The preferential selection is intended to compensate for the disadvantage that applicants were unable to study due to their military service. However, this compensation can only be claimed for a limited period. Therefore, preferential selection can only be claimed for the two application periods immediately following the end of military service.
If the relevant service has not yet been fully completed, proof must be provided with the application that the service will be completed by October 31st at the latest for applications for a winter semester and by April 30th for applications for a summer semester .
