What do you need support with?
Difficulties in studying can be manifold. Because studying can – hopefully only for a short time – bring you to your own performance limits. We would like to support you with the information and tips on the way to a solution.
You can find direct contact persons in the respective advisory services. If you do not find what you are looking for, you will find contact persons in the students advisory service center who will work out an individual path with you. Of course, all conversations are confidential!

International Office
Have you come to Germany to study and are having difficulty finding your way around the new environment (university, place of study)? The International Office advises and supports international students on numerous questions. These include, for example, the right of residence, finding accommodation, financing your studies, and arriving at the university or place of study. Academic Advisory Service
Subject-specific advising is offered by the lecturers of the department. They support the students with questions about the design of the course, the study technique and the focus of the course and answer questions about the specific course content of the individual subjects. “Sometimes I think to myself, my studies don't suit me at all. I would rather study something else or maybe do an apprenticeship, but then I have this kink in my CV and my parents don't know anything about it either. In addition, you always have this feeling of having failed somehow.”
Perhaps you have already had these or similar thoughts. That's not unusual either, it can always happen that you have doubts about yourself and your field of study during your studies. But if these doubts don't go away or even get bigger over time, then this also has an impact on the success of your studies. The THM is involved in one network, which wants to support students who want to reorient themselves. The first contacts for a future outside of the university are the colleagues from the university team at the Employment Agency. crisis management
Studying as a (new) phase of life can be associated with personal crises, stress and (test) anxiety. Learning and work difficulties have a stressful effect on everyday life. In such situations, you have the option of making up to five appointments with the THM psychological counseling to claim something. She also advises on further procedures if this scope of advice is not sufficient.
