The selection according to qualification (selection procedure of the university) takes place according to the Hessian University Admissions Ordinance (HHVZ).

All applicants for the respective degree programme are classified in a "ranking list of qualifications". The ranking is determined by the average grade of the university entrance qualification.

If the average grade cannot be calculated based on the application documents submitted, this application must be classified at the bottom of the ranking list.

Among the applicants with the same average grade, the ranking is based on the number of waiting semester educated. If several applicants have the same average grade and waiting semester, applicants who have already completed a service or are still doing it will be selected first. This is followed by the group of applicants who cannot provide proof of service. Within this group, the lot decides on the corresponding ranking.
