Medicinal plants are the subject of a series of lectures by the TH Mittelhessen in the Green Lecture Hall of the Gießen State Horticultural Show. Students of biotechnology/biopharmaceutical technology each present a plant in half-hour presentations.

“Design an attractive and informative poster for visitors to the State Garden Show about a medicinal plant” was the task in the “Phytopharmaceuticals” seminar for the bachelor students. The course was supervised by Prof. Dr. Frank Runkel and Sebastian Hühn. Garden show visitors can view the results every Thursday from 11 a.m. on July 3rd. The first event is about turmeric, ivy and ginseng. On July 10th, the theme is foxglove, chamomile, caffeine and tea. The student speakers will explain the effects of St. John's wort, passionflower and hops on July 17th. The last date on July 24th is reserved for yew, nasturtium and butcher's broom.
