The language of instruction at the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen is German. We will assume that your home institution has thoroughly checked your proficiency in German. For this reason, the obligatory German language proficiency test for enrolment at a German university (called DSH) is not required for visiting students. Nevertheless, do not forget that a good knowledge of German is essential to benefit from the material taught in lectures.
To prepare for your stay, you are welcome to take a preparatory intensive German language course.
For the autumn semester
International Summer Course (limited registration)
The International Summer Course is always held from the end of August to the end of September. During the four-week language course (approximately 95 hours of teaching), participants receive intensive training in grammar, area studies, writing texts and communication. Student mentors offer participants guidance during the course. This means participants not only learn about our universities, but also about the town and surrounding area. For instance, the summer course also includes field trips to Frankfurt and Heidelberg. We also offer workshops on the following topics: Films, newspapers, theatre, dance and cooking. Participants receive a certificate confirming their participation with four ECTS points.
Course fees are €600 for Erasmus students and €400 for students from one of our partner universities.
