How to apply for a Bachelor's degree programme at the THM
International applicants of the THM send their applications to uni-assist (Work and Service Center for International Student Applications). At uni-assist, all applications are pre-screened and forwarded to the THM after screening. An additional application via the THM homepage is not necessary.
How does the application via uni-assist work? How do I prepare my application?
Prepare your documents, register in the My assist portal and apply online. Please fill out the application form for your desired degree course (admission) and all other uni-assist forms and upload your documents to your account.
Incomplete applications will not be processed by uni-assist

Provided that your documents meet the formal application requirements, uni-assist will notify the THM and forward the documents to the THM . Furthermore, the THM will inform you whether you will receive a study place (admission) and inform and explain the further steps to you.
If your documents (certificates and language skills) do not meet the application requirements for the THM , you will be notified by uni-assist and your documents will remain with uni-assist.

GERMAN LANGUAGE SKILLS
Language level for application: In order to apply to the THM (preparatory college, Bachelor or Master), you need at least a certificate for the language level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference. Applications below this level will not be forwarded to the THM by uni-assist.
Language level for studying: Before you can enroll at THM , you must have achieved at least a DSH-2 or equivalent certificate.

The THM cooperates with the Justus Liebig University of Giessen (JLU) and offers German courses from C1 to the DSH exam for international prospective students and applicants. You will receive an invitation to the preparation course for the DSH exam.
If you are interested in a course at levels A1, A2, B1 or B2, please apply directly via the uni-assist portal at Justus Liebig University of Giessen (JLU).
If your home certificates do not qualify you for direct university admission at the THM , you can acquire the subject-related prerequisites for a degree course by attending the "Studienkolleg" (Foundation course) with the final exam "Feststellungsprüfung".
International applicants of the THM attend the Studienkolleg Mittelhessen. You have courses in Giessen or Marburg depending on your course.
There are different preparatory colleges in Germany, you can also apply there. Please inform yourself.
How do I get a place at the Studienkolleg Mittelhessen?
You have to apply via uni-assist. Follow the steps as described here. When applying, you already choose your desired field of study.
You must prove that you have successfully completed a German course of level B2. After your application has been pre-screened, you will receive an invitation from us to take the entrance test. How do I apply for a degree programme if I have completed the Mittelhessen Studienkolleg?
At the end of the Studienkolleg (usually after one year) you will take the "Feststellungsprüfung". If you pass these exams, you will be admitted to the THM in the field of study for which you applied.
If you want to change your field of study later on, you have to make sure that your "Feststellungsprüfung" qualifies you for this subject! You can find an overview here. Otherwise you will have to take a "Supplementary Examination".
The enrollment is the final step before you can begin your studies.
After you have received a study place, you will be informed via the applicant portal E-Campus which documents you still have to send to the THM by mail.
Now you must: - register with a statutory health health insurance company and inform them that you would like to enroll at the THM University of Applied Sciences ( THM ) - pay the current semester fee
Only applicants who have been admitted through E-Campus will be asked to send additional documents by mail.

If not already done: Your DSH-2 German language certificate. An overview of the certificates accepted at THM can be found here.
If you want to study in Germany, you must register with a statutory health insurance in Germany. You can find information on this topic at the DAAD.
As soon as you have registered with a statutory health insurance company, the information about your insurance status will be forwarded electronically (digitally) to the THM .
If your proof of health insurance coverage is missing, enrollment at our university is not possible.
The payment of the semester fee is automatically assigned to your application. Therefore, pay close attention to the intended purpose when making the transfer.
Please enter the following data as the intended purpose when making the transfer:
Applicant number
Name, first name (as in your passport/identity document)
The enrollment confirmation is proof that you are studying at the THM . You can present this document to the health insurance, the Foreign Residence's Office ("Ausländerbehörde"), the "Studentenwerk", etc. You have to download this document yourself in E-Campus. To do this, you must first activate your THM account.
WELCOME DAY FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
The Welcome Day is the beginning of your studies. Approximately 10 days before the semester begins, you can participate in the Welcome Day.
There you will receive important information about your start of studies and get to know the International Office as well as other international students.

APPLICATION TO HIGHER SEMESTERS / CHANGE OF UNIVERSITY
Prospective international students who would like to be admitted to a higher semester at the THM apply directly to the THM . However, this is only possible if you have already studied and completed examinations.
