For a successful exchange semester at the THM , it is important that you plan and prepare your stay in time. To support you in all the necessary steps before your arrival and to answer any questions you may have, we have organized a Pre-Arrival Session taking place online on September 15th 2022, 3pm CET.

ENTRY TO THM - EXCHANGE STUDENTS

For the autumn semester 2022, after receiving your Letter of Acceptance, we will begin with the enrollment process to the THM . This will take place online prior to your arrival. After we have contacted you, please send the following documents by e-mail to This email address is being protected from spam bots! To display JavaScript must be turned on!

  • Proof of health insurance. For EU students from EU countries, please send a copy of your EHIC (European Health Insurance Card)
  • Proof of payment of the semester fee
  • Application for enrollment

A Q&A session to support you in the enrollment process will take place online via zoom in July 2022. The exact date, time and zoom link will be announced soon.

ONLY FOR EXCHANGE STUDENTS

You will receive the enrollment application and the details for the payment of the semester fee by email.

If you are not sure whether the insurance coverage from your home country is recognized in Germany, we can advise you.

After enrollment you will receive your THM initial password. With this password you can activate your THM account with your personal THM email address. Then you'll have access to the learning platform Moodle and the online services.

INTERNATIONAL BUDDY PROGRAMMEME

We cordially invite you to join our International Buddy Programme.

As a newcomer at THM , you will probably have a lot of questions concerning lectures, professors, student life and leisure activities in Giessen and the surrounding area. Who could help answer all of these questions? The “International Buddy Programmeme” puts you in a team with an experienced, THM student. This will help you establish new contacts, improve your foreign language skills and meet lots of people from around the world.

Also, you can take part in an interesting, free programme with a wide variety of activities such as group events and seminars. You can also earn 3 ECTS and gain a certificate of participation for your active participation.
