The State of Hessen maintains partnerships with the regions of Massachusetts (USA), Wisconsin (USA) and Queensland (Australia). Students from the state of Hessen benefit from these relationships through tuition fee waivers at the foreign universities.

International students at the THM must pay attention to the following when planning their stay abroad: The stay abroad may not exceed 6 months and you must ensure that your residence title is valid at least until your re-entry before leaving Germany!
What is funded?
You pay no tuition fees! This means indirect funding of approx. $11,000 per semester. Additional costs, such as travel, accommodation and insurance costs, are either borne by yourself or you apply for a PROMOS or HAW. International scholarship or apply for BAföG abroad.
What is expected of me?
Of course, we assume that you take your studies in Massachusetts seriously. But:
You are also traveling to Massachusetts as a Student Ambassador for the THM , your department and for the state of Hessen. Inspire your fellow students to come and stay with us!
