If not during your studies, then when? - Opportunities to go abroad

We offer support if you are interested in

• a complete semester or an internship/thesis abroad and
• so for shorter stays such as international summer schools or language courses..

Ask your department if there are any international field trips, workshops or if an international summer school planned.

Students with disabilities and students with children can apply for additional organizational and financial support.

The outgoing team supports you in choosing the right scholarships and funding programmes and is also there for you during and after your stay abroad.

Doctoral students

In the context of your doctorate at or with the THM , you have the possibility to be funded either as a "student in the 3rd study cycle" or as an employee and teacher via Erasmus+. Stays from 2 days up to several months are possible. Please inform yourself under Study Abroad, Teaching and Research Abroad and under Training programmes abroad.

Congress trips can be funded eg via HAW.international, if you make your own contribution. The application is made directly to the DAAD.

The DAAD awards research fellowships for doctoral students.

Lecturers/Researchers

Why not set a good example and get to know THM 's partner universities in person, teach, research and further your education in a different environment, or contribute to a congress? With your authentic experiences, you will not only broaden your own horizons, but also inspire and enrich students. As teachers, you are important players in the internationalization of the THM .

Various options are open to you. You can both teach courses as a visiting academic at our foreign partner universities or train yourself abroad.

Longer stays worldwide for teaching and research purposes are also supported through various programmes, especially those of the DAAD.

Congress trips also offer the opportunity for internationalization. There are also various funding programmes for this, such as HAW.international

staff

All THM employees have the opportunity to participate in further education and training abroad, eg through Erasmus+ funding. Educational leave from recognized external providers can also be funded on application. So why not improve your English language proficiency in Ireland? Or would you rather attend a "Staff Training Week" in Valencia with integrated language learning opportunities?

If you have health limitations or childcare needs, there are support options available as well.

Return with fresh impressions and ideas and support the internationalization of the THM .

If you do not have the opportunity to travel abroad, you are welcome to participate in the International Buddy Programme. Under certain conditions, participation will be recognized as training and you will have the opportunity to get to know students from abroad personally.
