How do I apply for a bachelor's degree at the THM ?
As an international applicant for the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen please send your applications to uni-assist (Work and service center for international student applications). At uni-assist, all applications are pre-checked and forwarded to the THM after the examination. An additional application via the THM homepage is not necessary.
How does the application via uni-assist work? How do I prepare my application?
Prepare your documents, register on the Myassist portal and apply online. Please fill out the application form for your desired study place (admission) and all other uni-assist forms and upload your documents to your account.
Incomplete applications will be processed by uni-assist Not processed.

What happens once I have submitted my application?
If your documents meet the formal application requirements, uni-assist will notify THM and forward the documents to THM . The THM will then inform you whether you have received a place on the course (admission) and tell you and explain the next steps.
If your documents (certificates and language skills) do not meet the application requirements for the THM , you will be informed by uni-assist and your documents will remain with uni-assist.

KNOWLEDGE OF GERMAN
Language level for the application: In order to be able to apply to the THM (preparatory college, bachelor's or master's degree), you need at least one certificate for language level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference. Applications below this level will not be forwarded to the THM by uni-assist.
Language level for the course: Before you can enroll at the THM , you must at least a DSH-2 or an equivalent certificate achieved.

The THM cooperates with the Justus Liebig University Gießen (JLU) and offers German courses from C1 to the DSH exam for international prospective students and applicants. You will receive an invitation from us to the preparatory course for the DSH exam.
If your home certificates do not qualify you for direct university admission at the THM , you can acquire the technical requirements for a course of study (assessment test) by attending the "Studienkolleg" (preparation year).
International THM applicants attend the Studienkolleg Mittelhessen. Depending on the course, the course takes place in Gießen or Marburg.
There are various preparatory colleges in Germany, you can also apply there. Please inform yourself.
How do I get a place in the Studienkolleg Mittelhessen?
You have to apply via uni-assist. Follow the steps as here described. When you apply, you already select your desired field of study.
You must prove that you have successfully completed a B2 level German course. After your application has been pre-checked, you will receive an invitation from us to take the “admission test”. You can find more information and example tasks here: Admission test at the Studienkolleg Mittelhessen.

As soon as you have been offered a place at the Studienkolleg Mittehessen, you have to Form for acceptance of the study place fill in and return in due time.
How do I apply for a degree once I have completed the Studienkolleg Mittelhessen?
At the end of the preparatory course (usually after one year), you will take the "Feststellungsprüfung". If you pass these tests, you will be admitted to the THM in the subject for which you have applied.
If you later want to change your subject, you must make sure that your "Feststellungsprüfung" qualifies you for this subject! You can find an overview here. Otherwise you have to take a "supplementary examination".
Enrollment is the last step before you can start your studies.
After you have received a place to study, you will receive a message via the E-Campus application portal about which documents you still need to upload for enrollment.
Now you must: - Register with a statutory health insurance company and inform them that you would like to enroll at the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen - pay the current semester fee
Only applicants with admission will be asked to upload additional documents via the E-Campus.

If you want to study in Germany, you have to register with a statutory health insurance company in Germany. Information on this can be found on the DAAD website.
As soon as you have registered with a statutory health insurance company, the information about your insurance status will be forwarded electronically (digitally) to the THM .
If you do not have proof of health insurance coverage, you will not be able to enroll at our university.
Certificate of enrollment = certificate of enrollment
The certificate of enrollment is proof that you are enrolled at the THM . You can present this document to the health insurance company, the immigration office, the student union, etc. You must download this document yourself from the E-Campus. To do this, you must first activate your THM account.
WELCOME DAY FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
The Welcome Day marks the beginning of your studies. You can take part in the Welcome Day about 10 days before the start of the semester.
Of the Welcome Day is aimed at international bachelor and master students in the first semester. This applies regardless of whether you completed your first degree abroad or in Germany. There you will receive important information about starting your studies and get to know the International Office and other international students.
The Welcome Day is intended to make it easier to get started with your studies and provide valuable information. More information is available at go.thm.de/start_international
This event is not aimed at exchange students. There is an additional Orientation Day for you.
APPLICATION FOR A HIGHER SEMESTER / CHANGING UNIVERSITY
International prospective students who would like to be admitted to a higher semester at the THM apply directly to the THM . However, this is only possible if you have already studied and passed examinations.
