You can also help shape life in and around Gießen outside of the university and maintain contact with Gießen people. Volunteer work is also an opportunity to further your education, to expand your network and (application) profile and to spend time in Gießen .

The Gießen Volunteer Center supports various projects in the city. You can help plant a seasonal vegetable garden or a clothing exchange. You can also support refugees here in Gießen . If you prefer to be outside and like to exercise, you can help as a garden keeper or godfather or take care of two goats. Get active!

The Hessian Ministry of Science and Art awards scholarships for particularly gifted refugee students, doctoral candidates and scientists at the THM as part of the "HessenFonds". The funding serves to Further a course of study or an academic career at the THM .

As part of the scholarship programme RISE Worldwide (Research Internships in Science and Engineering) is also arranged by the German Academic Exchange Service for this Year 2022 research internships all over the world.
You can apply, among others Bachelor students from the 2nd semester from the departments natural and engineering sciences as medicine, pharmacy, psychology and computer science from German universities and technical colleges. Unfortunately, Master’s students are not eligible to apply!

The scholarship recipients receive a monthly DAAD full scholarship rate and a travel allowance (both dependent on the destination country) as well as health, accident and liability insurance.

Application deadline for internships worldwide: November 1, 2021 to December 15, 2021
