Nomination deadlines - International Offices

The nomination period for the winter semester
begins on April 1st and ends on May 15th.

The nomination period for the summer semester
begins on October 1st and ends on November 15th .

How do I get to THMas an exchange student?

To participate in an exchange semester at THM nominated by your home university (mobility coordinator) .

The Learning Agreement is the teaching and learning contract between exchange students, their home university and THM.

How do I apply?

After your nomination by your home university, you will receive an email with your SoleMove account details for your online application. Please log in, complete the form, and upload all required documents. Allow yourself sufficient time for preparation.

Under "Proposed Study Plan" you can select your initial modules and make changes before finalizing the Learning Agreement. Instructions for module selection can be found in the Course catalogue .

Please ensure that the application form and attachments are complete and that the Online Learning Agreement (OLA) or PDF version has been confirmed or signed.

Letter of Acceptance:

You will receive your Letter of Acceptance (confirmation) in July (for the winter semester) or in January (for the summer semester). This letter contains all the information required for visa issuance and enrollment at THM .

Which documents do I need to upload to SoleMove?

Proposed Study Plan | (Online) Learning Agreement

1. Select your courses (please see Course catalogue ) and complete the Proposed Study Plan (tab in your SoleMove application form).

2. Your THMDepartmental International Coordinator will review your THMselection. He/she will confirm, remove, or suggest alternative courses.

3. After your proposed study plan has been approved:

For students from EU universities: Complete the online Learning Agreement with your approved course selection at your home university. If this is not yet available at your home university, please use the PDF version of the Learning Agreement. For the PDF version, you can use either your home university's form or the THM . See THM Learning Agreement .

For students from non-EU universities:

• Complete the Learning Agreement (.pdf) based on your Proposed Study Plan. For the .pdf version, you can use the form provided by your home university or the THM . See THM Learning Agreement .
• Obtain all three signatures (yours, home university, THM- Departmental International Coordinator or THMInternational Coordinator)
• Upload the Learning Agreement to SoleMove.

Content and registration for the German courses

To prepare for your stay, you can participate in a semester-long intensive German course with reduced fees for THM exchange students. In these language courses, participants receive intensive training in grammar, cultural studies, writing, and communication. Participants are also supported by student mentors. This way, you will not only get to know our universities but also the city and your surroundings. Excursions and workshops are also offered.

- For the winter semester: International University Summer Course (HSK).
The HSK always takes place from the end of August to the end of September. After four weeks (approx. 95 teaching hours), you will receive a certificate of participation worth 4 ECTS credits.
- For the summer semester: International Spring Course (IFK).
Students beginning their studies in the summer semester can participate in the 3-week International Spring Course (approx. 60 teaching hours), which usually takes place in February/March. You will receive a certificate of participation worth 3 ECTS credits.

If you are interested, apply in good time (limited course places).

During the lecture period, you can attend a semester-long German evening course for exchange students.

- The evening course is for exchange students of THM Free of charge
- The evening course takes place twice a week during the semester between 6:15 pm and 7:45 pm (4 lessons/week for 3 ECTS credits). THM cooperates with Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU) and offers exchange students German courses from level A1 to C1
